Think Positive!
Ok so come on there has to be at least one thing great about the OEMC, maybe even a few. Let's brainstorm together and name some really good things about OEMC. Think hard and long and I'm sure we can come up with some good points about our workplace.

The best thing is working a zone with an incompetent fool who can barely read. You get a 10-1, foot pursuit, or other emergency that you end up handling by yourself. Then you feel that tap on the shoulder. You look up and it's MK interupting you to ask if you broadcasted that assist citiczen who locked his/her keys in the car (something we don't go on in the first place). Mean while the emergency is still going on. But I guess that tap on the shoulder is going to be the closest anyone is going to come to a pat on the back.

Puhleeze. Its Mr. Long-Gone sooper-dooper ex-squad trooper here, and I'll still say that I thought most of my coworkers were great. North siders, South siders, whatever. If they could help a kid or old person they would. If they could help a copper in any way, they would. You people carry the weight of the city on your shoulders and you carry it well. Thats Grrrreat.

Guess you can't read either! Or don't you know the definition of the word positive? The post asked for positive comments you dumbass, not negative!
My positive comments: having the opportunity to have made a few good friendships along the way; enjoyed numerous humorous comments, wisecracks, jokes to make me cry from laughing; sharing good times & bad with co-workers and bosses from all 3 watches; and always , love coming to work on the 1sth & 16th each month.

I agree. Despite all the negative and annoyances. I have made some great friends. One in particular that I know will be a part of my life long after I no longer work here.

What's with all the hostility?
Does it have anything to do with the fact that you're so fat, that after you extend the arms of the chairs out as wide as they go you still have to butter your fat thighs in order to squeeze into the chair! GFY
You said you enjoy wise cracks. Well obviously you're to ignorant to realize that was a wise crack.
Once again GFY!

How do I love thee, OEMC? Let me count the ways:
- o.t.
- comp time: on the front, end, and days off outside of rdo's
- great vacation time
- coworkers that I appreciate and enjoy working with
- working among the most generous people I know. I am amazed at how giving everyone is when a need arises
- $ increases - more than any job I've been in. My old job gave me a 14 cent raise on a good year.
- great cooks - I've tried food I've never had before, eaten food I've never liked before and enjoyed it, and savored many a meal.
- free parking
- cheap insurance
- deferred comp
- free gym w/ quality equipment
- an attractive workplace - furniture, plants, new fridge/freezers, nice atrium, etc.
Well - I'll stop there. There are problems of course - as with any job. But I am thankful for the good stuff!
