Should I stay or should I go???????

Mandatory Overtime, ah such a touchy topic nowadays. Does anyone really know the "rules" on who has to stay and when? Is it really fair for someone to not have to be mandated but continue to work their lunch or break? Is it a "rule" that after 3 "passes" one gets an automatic CI? Are we still under our former leaders orders? Are we under new rules that we don't know about? Anyone have any imput??????

All the rules regarding mandatory ot that our supervisors are required to follow need to be put in writing , all 3 watches to adhere to the policies in the same manner, and made easily available for all OEMC employees to read and review (ie, posted on bulletin board in roll call room or break room). Also , why is it that our great union reps will not speak for us ,make our demands known at these closed door meetings with the new DD ...RS...and stand our ground for us? Are they all now brainwashed by our shitty IBEW union shitheads? We also really need to push for certain things to be removed/included in the next contract.......most importantly to removed the clause.."management has the right"..."at management's discretion"...or anything similar! This is the key to all the bullshit thrown on us as the rules of the games change from day to day , employee to employee! I AM MAD AS HELL AND NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE! Time to put the boxing gloves on and FIGHT!

it has always been my understanding that "mandatory" meant mandatory, as in there is no choice. a supervisor says you have to stay, so you stay. it sucks, but it has happened to all of us. to those who come with an excuse to get out of the ot and make those of us without an excuse stay, be careful. i can see management getting ci's on all who refuse.

one more thing, FMLA is wonderful, and should be used if there is a legitimate need, but becareful there as well. as i have heard from friends in the real world, the boss can ask for a doctors note when you use it.

Why don't we give RS a chance? There is 3 yrs plus of damage that needs to be repaired, ammended, corrected, undone, you name it. I think our union stewards are all doing a great job on all watches. Its a thankless job. They certainly didn't have it easy the last 3 yrs with the nitwits in charge AND a union that didn't have their back. Our stewards volunteer their time for their coworkers. Now with mgt in a different light, maybe just maybe the stewards can concentrate on putting the union in check.

For the person that posted at 5:25 pm I'd like to say thank you. We, union reps have had it worse than just about any of you. We catch hell from management, we catch hell from the upper union and it's just great to know we can count on you giving us hell as well. Most of the things regarding managements rights have been in the contract since it's inception. We have no control over it. In case you didn't realize this is a business and even if we don't like it there are rules we all have to abide by, even when we don't agree. You have no idea just what really goes on or what we have stopped from happening but it's good to see that we can count on one of our own to dog us out. Oh and for the record i'm not afraid to say who I am, this is PCO2 Driver. I'm not hiding behind the scenes throwing stones.

It's good to see that there is a very qualified rep [MD] to handle these problems, and yes it is a business with a lot of under the table stuff that we will never see or hear of !!I hope that MD and the others can keep up the work they are doing.I hope that no personality conflicts will come into play, like it usually does around here ,or the if your not in the right clique or pissed MD or so and so off.You will not get the right treatment.
