We have live camera access to dispatched jobs?

Well news stations are reporting that we can see over at the dispatch consoles a "live" call. I don't know about you but last time I was there dispatchers did not have the ability to see any live camera action from a call to be dispatched. Far as I know only calltakers can do this. Did we miss something? Does anyone know when this really will happen? Does anyone know what the 3 screens will be showing on the ops floor?

Do you believe everything the media says? Just like the three kids that got shot, the media says it was with an "assault rifle" while witnesses say it was a Mac-10, which is a pistol.

Smoke and mirrors, if they really knew how slipshod this outfit was run. The whole city's police system is a joke.

Smoke and mirrors are all that they (JA and AR)know how to produce. For example, look at the UCV. They tell everyone that they can view all of the city cameras, but they fail to mention that they can only do 3 or less at a time. The news media is really in the dark when it comes to technology and they actually believe JA's lies.

the news media should also know ja, ar, and ts have no formal computer training nor any formal education beyond middle school and high school, but ja makes 155K a year, ar makes 135K and ts makes 100K. they are not even qualified to be on the floor with us, but the mayor gives them all that money and we get incompetence in return.

AR shouldn't even be on the city payroll!! He was illegally hired into the city, with JA pushing him through.

No, he's the one who showed him the ropes. You see, Jimmy's from "the neighborhood" just like Heff and Ray Ray and they will always be taken care of

the districts monitor the camera's and sometimes they do come in handy. but up at 911 the can see more than 3 at a time in the oc.

They don't want outside help to "fix" the system. They want the public to believe that this system is so advanced, and is flawless. Anyone who uses the system knows otherwise.

By complaining about it, hopefully it brings light to the situation, and shows that the people in charge have no idea what they're doing.

The camera technology on the CAD system is what took the dispatch system down this weekend.

  • At 10 March, 2009 08:28 , Anonymous Anonymous said...

No it wasn't. They upgraded to new servers and it was a scheduled down time. That is why they are still here all this week. It didn't have anything at all to do with cameras or anything else for that matter. It was just an upgrade to new servers.

  • At 10 March, 2009 11:31 , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Don't worry sweetie, the system will be going down alot more. When you have idiots running it, and subpar software, it's a recipe for disaster!

Easy solution when u see a department of revenue van commit a traffic violation just pull them over and remind them of the violation they committed and what the penalty is for it. We are all pretty much on the same team. If everyone remembers that we should have no problems.

    You think it's bad now?
You are punishing a watch manager because you feel his stats were unsatisfactory. This watch manager is respected and well liked by all. This watch manager brought the medical stats down. This watch manager was able to run his watch to the best of his ability. The bottom line is we are not adequately staffed. You cannot blame our lack of staff on one person. His supervisors do what they need to do. And so now the switch is set to take place on March 5th. And if you think stats are unsatisfactory now, just wait til March. While we have no control over what management does. We have no control over what manager they place on what watch, we still can voice our opinions. So in light of "the switch", here are a few points. 1) Yes, I put that slip in 6 months ago and yes I really do need that day off for whatever family function I have. 2) Please don't come up to me and tell me that you will owe me , you are the boss and all you owe me is a seat up in that place for 8 hours. 3) Please take deep breaths and know that our previous watch manager was able to do this without that "nervous nick" look. 4) Please understand that we work hard, we have families and believe it or not we look forward to our scheduled furlo, so please don't mess with us when it comes to that segment that we truly look forward to. And lastly to the management up above, you may think the moves you make are for the better, but summer is around the corner. Remember this equation, Summer chaos +continually getting denied td+being questioned like a 5 year old +denying a 5 day furlo extension =most likely not the outcome you are expecting. In fact, don't be surprised if your stats mysteriously get worse.

Remember this equation, Summer chaos +continually getting denied td+being questioned like a 5 year old +denying a 5 day furlo extension =most likely not the outcome you are expecting. In fact, don't be surprised if your stats mysteriously get worse.
Jimmy A is at it again! Closed door meetings in room 303 behind the Director's back while the ED was out of Town. JA had some high level dignitaries meet with him and made sure that left thinking he was in charge of OEMC and the ED is there on a temporary basis.

    Wow !

raymundo is either a fool for not establishing solid & non-negotiable boundaries for the fat man or is he afraid to put his foot down because of the fat man's connection at city hall? raymundo is either too stupid or very scared. it's one or the other.

let's assume Raymundo is not stupid & does know what the fat man is doing & plotting, but he allows it to continue. if so, then raymundo sold his integrity to the mayor before ever coming to oemc.

raymundo, it is not worth it. exit quietly and you will be able to again see a man in the mirror with integrity, balls and a nice pension, plus, you will no longer be under the thumb of the maniac on the 5th floor of city hall. you will quickly learn there is nothing greater than freedom.
