Wishful thinking!

Well blogmaster isn't too happy about the decision to delay the promotions until December. Thus forcing those who we know will be promoted in weeks to take a spot on a watch, a spot someone else could've had. Well let us hope that they do not find a way to have those being promoted a chance to also take a much wanted furlough spot. Only time will tell.

    Why does everybody think there is going to be such a mass multiple promotion? Just because of the last time in what, '06 ? Count how many spots are available in the here and now. Two? They have to make more 1 or 2 more watch managers to open up supervisor spots.

    "Open up" supervisor spots?? Are you kidding? Once upon a time, years ago, when this operation was better staffed, each watch had SEVEN supervisors assigned (plus two watch managers), with four and sometimes five supervisors working each day! Now the sups are reduced to working with on average only TWO per day, and in some cases, only one!! That is ridiculous. Especially with the number of red lights they have to answer all the time because no call taker wants to make a decision about a ticket, not to mention all of the Joe and Jane Schmos calling wanting to file complaints. Contrary to popular belief, those supervisors do a LOT of work.

    2. We usually pick furloughs after December 16th. (remember the Keating years...pick furloughs after they started)
    3. How could someone who will no longer be a PCO2 pick furloughs with us? (assuming your rumor of promotions in December is true)

    Propagation of rumors will be the demise of us all. Truth and Knowledge are the tools needed to survive.

    More accurately, the copter crashed after it was shot out from under her, and more specifically, the copter was destroyed directly underneath her legs, hence her legs being blown off. If not for her actions after being wounded, others on the copter would have lost their lives. Tammie Duckworth is a true war hero.
